Parents

Who are we?

Since 1988, the Parents Association and its activities have provided important ways for parents to stay informed about their students' undergraduate experiences. There is no membership fee to join and you determine the amount of time you wish to volunteer. Here are some of the many benefits of participating:

  • Receive VIP invitations to special campus events.
  • Learn in detail the various student services available on campus from administrators who make informative presentations at the quarterly meetings.
  • Receive tickets for the "Chancellor's Reserved Seating" section at your student's graduation by acquiring at least six participation points. Get involved to earn participation points.

What do we do?

The Parents Association holds quarterly meetings where you hear about various campus issues from administrators, staff or faculty. Lunches are often held right after a meeting, where parents and students are invited to mix and mingle with other parents, students and University Administrators, Staff and Faculty.

The UCR Parents Association, in conjunction with the UCR Alumni Association also awards a "Parent of the Year". Click here to learn more about Parent of the Year.

Parents are also asked to volunteer at activities throughout the year such as summer orientations, move-in day and commencement. Parents are also invited to become advocates of UCR by attending UC Day in Sacramento and regional student recruitment events.
