Legislative Advocacy
Adequate
state funding of UC is critical for California’s future.
UC impacts the
lives of all Californians: providing a
world-class education, generating economic growth
and new jobs through research innovations, and working to improve
California’s healthcare and quality of life.
However,
terms limits, shifting state budget priorities and fierce competition for
public research dollars have changed the way UCR builds and nurtures public
support.
Join the UCR Alumni Advocacy Network
Volunteer advocates play
an integral role in UCR’s future by contacting state officials on
matters important to UCR and higher education. Advocates support the
University by:
·
writing letters, making phone calls
and sending emails to their elected officials (talking points and sample letters are always provided)
·
participating in lobby activities
such as the annual
UC
Day in Sacramento
·
meeting with legislators and staff
in their district offices
·
participating in special events
such as legislator-to-campus and candidate-to-campus visits
·
serving on the UCR Alumni
Association Advocacy Committee
To become an Alumni
