Alumni Career Network

The Alumni Career Network is comprised of nearly 1000 alumni willing to share career information with students and other alumni. Network members may be contacted to set up appointments for in-depth informational interviews. The Network also serves as a speaker's bureau. Alumni Career Network listings are located at the Office of Alumni & Constituent Relations, in the Alumni & Visitors Center, and in the Career Center Library. Career Counselors are available to discuss optimal use of this important resource. Alumni are encouraged to join this valuable network.

UCR Career Center

The UCR Career Center provides a comprehensive set of services designed to support your career and job search needs. Services can be particularly helpful for recent graduates starting their careers. Members of the UCR Alumni Association receive a 20% fee discount on all services listed. To access service alumni must first register and pay the appropriate fees.

Job Search Package - $50 / 6 months

• ScotJOBS - UCR online job and internship database. Hundreds of jobs are posted online with daily updates.
• Job Fairs – The Career Center sponsors a number of job fairs during the academic year. Dates, location and company participants are posted on the UCR Career Center website
• Workshops – Topics include interviewing skills, resume writing, job search strategies and more. Check the calendar for details.
• Career Center Resource Room – Computer stations linking to a collection of online resources such as Vault Reports and Interview Stream. A small collection of hard copy career development resources that provide information on job search, graduate/professional school, and career exploration are also available.

UCR Highlander Package - $125 / 6 months

The Highlander Package includes the services listed in the job search package plus:

• One career assessment test
• Two one-hour counseling appointments that can be used for:

  • resume critique
  • practice interview critique
  • career decision making discussion
  • graduate school planning
  • career assessment interpretation

Separate Menu Items

• Career Assessment with Interpretation - $65 (plus cost of assessment fee)
  One-hour session with career counselor to interpret results of assessment. We currently offer Focus II, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and the Strong Interest Inventory.
• Resume Critique - $65
  One hour appointment with Career Counselor to review your resume and cover letter
• ScotJOBs – $30 / 3 months
