| Call for Commencement Volunteers |
Be a Part of Commencement, June 17-18
Volunteers make a good day better for UCR graduates
It takes four ceremonies and a countless number of volunteers to make sure that each of the more than 3,000 students who represent the Class of 2006 have a memorable moment when walking across the stage during UCR’s 52nd commencement ceremonies.
Each year alumni, parents and friends of the University are invited to join faculty and staff to take part in the celebration by volunteering to register graduates, assist with the lineup and procession, sell program books and greet and assist guests during the ceremonies.
Volunteers receive a commencement t-shirt and will be honored at a reception following Commencement weekend. Click here to participate or call (951) 827-3144. For more information on the commencement ceremonies, visit www.commencement.ucr.edu.

| LA Chapter -Annual Hollywood Bowl Event |
UCR alumni and friends are invited to join the Los Angeles Chapter of the UCR Alumni Association at their annual Hollywood Bowl outing on Saturday, August 19, 2006.
The program will be "The Great American Concert: Walt Disney's Fantasia with Fireworks." Nearly 70 years ago, Walt Disney used the skill of his world-class animators to visualize the world of classical music. The result: Walt Disney's Fantasia. For the first time, John Mauceri and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra recreate this magic - an evening of musical selections with film clips on the Bowl's big screens.
You'll see your favorites as well as the world premiere of Clair de lune, plus a glimpse into the brilliant artwork and unfinished segments of this masterpiece. The evening ends with fireworks that complement the spectacular beauty of this cinematic triumph.
Tickets cost $35 for Alumni Association members, $38 for non-members. The deadline for reservations and payment is June 30, 2006. Click here for more information. |
