Dr. Desdemona Cardoza ('79 M.A., '82 Ph.D.) will become California State University, Los Angeles' next provost and vice president for  academic affairs effective July 1. Desdemona, a professor of psychology who joined the Cal State L.A. faculty in 1988, is currently dean of the University’s College of Natural and Social Sciences. She has authored journal articles on ethnic identity, attitudes toward immigrants, and Latinos and higher education.
