UCR Awards Contract for Barbara and Art Culver Center of the Arts- UC Riverside has awarded a $12,646,000 contract to Tovey/Schultz Construction Inc. of Lake Elsinore to renovate the historic Rouse Building for the Barbara and Art Culver Center of the Arts in downtown Riverside. Construction is expected to start Nov. 26 and be completed in spring 2009. ...more

Matt Barth, director of College of Engineering Center for Environmental Research and Technology UC Riverside Helps Audi Make Greener Cars - Right now, drivers can ask Google maps to direct them to their destination, and highlight pizza places along the way. UC Riverside has recently partnered with Audi on a $650,000 project (along with UC Berkeley) that will allow drivers to determine the greenest route possible. ...more

Anya McCoy Anya McCoy '78 B.A. - Trained as an ethnobotanist at UCR and a landscape artist at S.U.N.Y., Anya specialized in creating fragrant gardens. In 2002, McCoy started a Yahoo group dedicated to natural perfumery, which is the composition of raw materials that come from plants, the soil, the ocean and animals to create organic, aromatic perfumes. Because of the group's popularity, Anya launched NaturalPerfumery.com to showcase natural perfumers from around the world and to educate the public about the alternative to synthetic perfumes.

From Dream to Reality

Alumni and friends gathered on Sat., Oct. 27 to celebrate the opening of UCR’s Alumni & Visitors Center. It is designed to serve as the front door to the campus and to be a distinctive arrival point to welcome visitors and showcase alumni achievements. “UCR alumni now have a place on campus to call home. I encourage all alumni to stop by for a tour when visiting campus,” Kyle D. Hoffman, Assistant Vice Chancellor, Alumni & Constituent Relations. UCR Alumni Association Board of Directors

The UCR Alumni Association Board of Directors is a dedicated group of volunteers which establishes Association policy, reviews programs, and provides feedback and suggestions to the University administration. 

The Association is now accepting nominations and applications for its Board of Directors. Alumni interested in serving on the Board or submitting a nomination may apply online or print out an application to mail in. All applications and nominations must be received by January 11. The two-year term begins July 1.

Only current members of the UCR Alumni Association are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors.

Alumni Award Nominations – Deadline Extended
Glass Award

The nomination deadline for the 2008 Alumni Awards of Distinction has been extended to Monday, December 17.

Now is your chance to nominate an alumnus(a) who has made a difference in the lives of others through outstanding professional, personal and community contributions. For information about the award categories and to submit a nomination, visit www.alumni.ucr.edu or contact the Alumni Office. Recipients will be honored at the 22nd Annual Alumni Awards of Distinction Banquet on April 26.
