Chancellor France Córdova receives Caltech's Distinguished Alumni Award

The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honor the California Institute of Technology bestows upon a graduate, and is in recognition of "a particular achievement of noteworthy value, a series of such achievements, or a career of noteworthy accomplishment." UCR Hires Family Medicine Scholar as Vice Provost for Health Affairs - Kiki Nocella, a family medicine scholar, has been appointed the founding vice provost of health affairs at UC Riverside. '96 Highlander Highlighted
Stephanie Schaeffer ('96) is a contestant on NBC's The Apprentice Los Angeles. She graduated from UCR with a double major in English and Psychology and then moved on to Southwestern Law School where she graduated in the top 10% of her class in 1999. When not appearing on The Apprentice, she is a trial attorney for one of the largest defense firms in California. Stefanie defends California employers against worker's compensation, subrogation and discrimination claims, and defends large real estate developers in construction defect litigation.

LA Chapter Hollywood Bowl Event

Annual Hollywood Bowl Outing and Pre-concert Picnic

UCR Alumni and friends are invited to join the Los Angeles Chapter of the UCR Alumni Association at their annual Hollywood Bowl outing on Saturday, July 14, 2007.

The program will be “John Williams: Maestro of the Movies” featuring the Los Angeles Philharmonic conducted by John Williams. In the world of film music, there is no single greater force than the incomparable John Williams. Having more Academy Award nominations than anyone alive is a testament to his singular ability to capture in music the imagination, beauty, and drama of film. A John Williams concert at the Hollywood Bowl is an experience like no other!

Join fello alumni for a pre-concert “Bring-your-own” picnic in the Camrose Picnic Area next to the Bowl. Concert tickets are $36 for Alumni Association members and $41 for non-members. The deadline for reservations and payment is May 25, 2007. Tickets will be mailed about 2-3 weeks prior to the concert.
